Lead conversion follows a steep decay curve. The HBR / InsideSales data on 1.25M tracked leads: - Respond in 1-5 minutes: baseline conversion (call it X%) - Respond in 30 minutes: ~21% of baseline - Respond in 1 hour: ~10% of baseline - Respond in 24 hours: ~2% of baseline The intuition: the moment a prospect submits a form or hangs up an unanswered call, they don't sit and wait.
