How this calculation works
Concrete is priced per square foot installed: 1. Base rate by thickness: a 4-inch slab runs about $6 to $10 per square foot installed, a 5-inch $7 to $12, and a 6-inch $8 to $14 (thicker slabs use more material and rebar). 2. Finish: a decorative finish multiplies the cost. Colored is about 1.25x, exposed aggregate 1.3x, and stamped up to 1.6x a standard broom finish. 3. Removal: tearing out and hauling away old concrete adds roughly $2 to $6 per square foot. The result is a range because pricing varies by site access, subgrade prep, rebar, and region. Expect roughly $4,200 to $7,200 standard. A decorative finish or removing the old slab raises it.

Stamped runs about 1.6x standard. The look costs more but is far cheaper than pavers.
