FAQ

Questions, Answered

Do I need to bring my vehicle somewhere, or do you come to me?
DVP Paint Correction is a fully mobile service. We come directly to your home, driveway, workplace, or garage anywhere in our service area, which covers Casselberry, Orlando, Winter Park, Lake Nona, Windermere, Kissimmee, and the surrounding Central Florida communities. You don't need to drop your car off or arrange a ride. Just pick a location with enough space to work safely around the vehicle, and we handle the rest.
How long does paint correction take, and will my car be drivable the same day?
The time required depends on the size of your vehicle and the severity of the paint defects, swirl marks, oxidation, water spots, and light scratches all take different amounts of work to address. Most paint correction appointments are completed within a single visit. In most cases, your vehicle is ready to drive the same day. If a ceramic coating is applied after correction, there is a curing period to observe before the vehicle gets wet, and we will walk you through exactly what to expect before we leave.
What is the difference between paint correction and a regular car wash or detail?
A standard wash or detail cleans the surface and may add a layer of wax or sealant on top of existing defects. Paint correction actually removes a very fine layer of clear coat using machine polishing to eliminate or significantly reduce swirl marks, haze, light scratches, and oxidation, improving the actual condition of the paint rather than just masking it. The result is noticeably better gloss, depth, and clarity. If your paint looks dull or scratched even after washing, correction is what addresses the root cause.
Will ceramic coating prevent scratches on my vehicle?
Ceramic coating provides durable protection against environmental contaminants, UV exposure, bird droppings, light dirt, and water, and it makes the surface much easier to clean. However, it is not scratch-proof. Hard impacts, aggressive abrasion, and careless washing can still cause damage. Think of ceramic coating as a strong, long-lasting shield that reduces everyday wear and keeps your paint looking better for longer, not as an impenetrable barrier. Pairing it with proper maintenance habits gives you the best results.
My headlights are yellowed and foggy. Can that actually be fixed?
Yes. Headlight restoration removes the oxidation and UV degradation that causes that cloudy, yellowed appearance, a very common issue in Florida's intense sun. Restored headlights improve both the look of your vehicle and the quality of your nighttime lighting. The process is completed on-site during your mobile appointment, and the difference is usually dramatic. If your lenses have deep cracks or internal moisture damage, we will let you know during the assessment.
How do I know if my paint needs correction before a ceramic coating?
If your paint has visible swirl marks, water spots, light scratches, or a dull haze, applying a ceramic coating over those defects will lock them in permanently. Paint correction before coating ensures the surface is as clean and refined as possible so the coating bonds properly and your paint looks its best underneath the protection. During your appointment, we assess the condition of your paint and recommend the right approach for your vehicle's specific needs.
Can you repair deep scratches or paint chips, or only light surface defects?
Our scratch and chip repair service addresses damage that goes beyond what machine polishing alone can fix, including chips that have exposed bare metal or primer. The repair process involves carefully filling and color-matching the affected area to minimize visibility. Results vary depending on the size, location, and depth of the damage, and we will give you an honest assessment of what is achievable before any work begins. For very minor surface scratches that haven't broken through the clear coat, paint correction is often enough.
How soon can I get an appointment?
